Free information evening on Men and Cancer.
The Irish Cancer Society, as part of its Community Health Education Programme (CHEP) will hold a free talk specifically for men on the topic of men and cancer on Wednesday 28th November in Tubbercurry Family Resource Centre . The talk will cover topics such as how to spot the early warning signs of cancer and how you can reduce your risk of cancer by up to 50% by making healthy lifestyle choices. This talk will focus on general topics as well as less well known cancers that are specific to men, like prostate and testicular cancer
Counselling services
The FRC have secured funding from ESB Ireland and the Family Support Agency to develop a counselling service. We will be offering Marriage /Relationship counselling, Bereavement counselling and person centred counselling. The services will be carried out by fully qualified and Counsellors and will be offered on a Monday afternoon / evening and a Wednesday morning. Thursday Crafters
This group of women meet every Thursday morning for a chat and a cuppa, as well as learning new skills and share existing ones with members. The group have worked on card making, knitting, crochet and more. Upcoming workshops will include jewellery making, how to use a sewing machine and basic alterations, knitting, crochet patchwork as well as gift making and crafts using recyclable materials. Anyone interested in the group can call in any Thursday from 10.30am.
