About Us

Tubbercurry Family & Childcare Resource House Project Co. Ltd (Tubbercurry Family Resource Centre) was established in 1998 by 8 volunteers from the local community. The idea of setting up a Family Resource Centre came about because of the identified need within the south of the county to provide a range of family support services, childcare and education. In 2000 the Board established a community crèche for 12 children and employed two childcare staff and a Fas CE worker.

In 2004 funding was received from The Family Support Agency which enabled the project to open a Family Resource Centre office and to employ two staff. In the past five years the Tubbercurry area has seen a major increase in population and during this time the Family Resource Centre has responded to the growing needs of the community.

Today the Family Resource Project works with a wide range of people providing educational supports, childcare programmes, youth activities and fun social events. We have a Voluntary Board of Management of nine people, three Family Resource Centre staff, fourteen childcare staff both of which are supported by FAS CE workers, TUS and The Rural Social Scheme.

The following people are members of the Board of Management:

 Una Callanan, Pat O Hara,

Mary T Mannion, Carine Quinn

Sinead Kelly, Brid Calvey,
