About us
Tubbercurry Family & Childcare Resource House Project Co. Ltd (Tubbercurry Family Resource Centre) was established in 1998 by 8 volunteers from the local community. The idea of setting up a Family Resource Centre came about because of the identified need within the south of the county to provide a range of family support services, childcare and education. In 2000 the Board established a community crèche for 12 children and employed two childcare staff and a Fas CE worker.
In 2004 funding was received from The Family Support Agency which enabled the project to open a Family Resource Centre office and to employ two staff. In the past five years the Tubbercurry area has seen a major increase in population and during this time the Family Resource Centre has responded to the growing needs of the community.
Today the Family Resource Project works with a wide range of people providing educational supports, childcare programmes, youth activities and fun social events. We have a Voluntary Board of Management of ten people, three Family Resource Centre staff, three childcare staff both of which are supported by four FAS CE workers.
The following people are members of the Board of Management:
Michael Severs, Una Callanan, Britta Sheehan,

Future Plans for the Project.
Contracts for the construction of the Tubbercurry FRC new building were signed on Monday November 16th and work has now commenced. The building will consist of training rooms/computer suite, counselling rooms, a general purpose multi use room and office space on the upper floor while a state of the art childcare facility catering for 0 – 12year olds will be on the ground floor. It is hoped that we will be in the new building by November 2010.
